The Samurai’s Hat

A hat is just a covering for your head, is it not?

A girl cannot be
A samurai warrior.
She said, we shall see.

Warriors wear hats,
And carry keen blades that thirst;
No woman compares.

Her blade sang of death-
No longer holding it close,
She went on her way.

It trailed in her wake,
Told the tale of her deed,
Left crimson blooms.

And she wore no hat,
Her tresses untethered, free;
Samurai, she was.
